I shot this on the beach on the first workshop I attended with Jack Picone in Stephen Dupont in Bali. I was on the beach documenting a local fishing village occupied by the Junkung people. I had no idea why I was following this young man and his horse up the beach, and it wasn't until I arrived back home that I realised what I must have seen in the image...the shadow. It's rare that I ever anticipate that I've 'got the shot', most of the time it happens without you really knowing. It's a lot about trusting your finger, your instinct and trying to stay out of the rational part of your head.
